Encouragement Today
Today’s inspiration is focused on the power of gratitude.
“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” —Robert Brault
There is power and strength in the gesture of gratitude because it has the ability to turn rain clouds into rainbows and tiny blessing into mountains.
No matter how difficult life may be or even seem, do not get lost in the difficulty of the trial. Try to look for the positive in your situation and find something you can be grateful for because when you do it will help to change your trial into a blessing.
I personally know this is not always easy to do, but if you could retrain your mind to do it (even if you start small), you will find life just a little bit easier. My friend, one step at a time. One moment of thankfulness at a time. Even for this, you will be thankful you did.
Your challenge today is to look at life through the eyes of gratefulness and look for something to be thankful for.
If you are in a season of struggling, this may be hard to do, but set out to take one step at a time and start small by being thankful for just one small thing. Eventually, with time and practice, it will get easier to be thankful and grateful for everything, even when it is hard to see.
You have this friend!
Feel free to share your moment of gratefulness below in the comments. I would love to share them with you.

I am a wife, mom, and daughter. I served in the United States Army, went to college, received a Batchelor's Degree in Criminology, homeschooled my daughter every year from start to finish, and now I am currently a daycare teacher's aide (soon to be a two-year-old teacher coming this fall).
I married my husband when he was in the United States Army so I have the unique knowledge of what it is like to be on both sides of a Military uniform.
While we were stationed in Germany, my daughter, who is 24 years old now, was born and I made the difficult decision to put my career on hold to be her mom.
The past 20 years have been wrought with many struggles but as a result of those struggles, this blog was created.
As the years passed and the struggle kept coming, I would say, "I'm not sure why we have to go through all of this, but if we have to then it is my desire to allow my story to serve as a means of encouragement to others so all this pain isn't for nothing."
The years passed and the struggles did not. However, I feel now is the time God wants me to share these stories of hardships with the hopes they provide encouragement to you if you are struggling in the same way. It is my prayer they will serve as a healing opportunity for you.
I want you to know you are not alone. There are others who know where you are and what you are feeling.
Cling to the hope this won't last forever and that God is standing beside you while He holds you up and dries your tears. He is showing you the way, you just need to follow Him.
Big Hugs, Heidi

Focusing on the positive in midst of darkness is so hard, but it eventually pulls you out! We just have to allow it. You know I’ve struggled with this for long, but your blog entries have helped me so much. Thank you for the daily reminders! Hugs

Awe, thanks friend! I know it is so very hard, but you are right, it does eventually pull you through. I know I have had a tough past couple of weeks and when darkness is all you can see, it is extremely hard to always do what is “right”. I am happy I am able to encourage you to get through your days. That is my hope and prayers for what I do. If I can manage to make someone smile or feel encouraged while going through a difficult time, then mission accomplished. God’s plan is at work and being accomplished. 💗 Hugs Friend as you start a new week. I hope it is a good one for you. 💜💗
